Take a Closer Look at Spectacular Lake Natron

Want to get away from it all? A location that gets overlooked is Lake Natron (pictured) located north of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and east of Serengeti National Park. This is an area of spectacular scenery but has fewer game viewing opportunities when compared to other destinations. Lake Natron is a breeding ground for the famous flamingo. And activities, aside from viewing the flamingo, include hiking to the waterfalls in the Engare Sero Gorge and climbing Oldoinyo Lengai, an active volcano! Accommodation options consist of camping or staying at one of the two tented camps.
 

Add Lake Eyasi as a Tour Excursion

On this tour inside the Ngorongoro Crater we introduce you to the last remaining tribe of hunter-gathers in Tanzania, the Hadzabe and Datoga Bushmen. They are keen to learn about western culture, so it’s an interesting exchange that both parties enjoy. For nature lovers wanting to get off the beaten track and away from crowds, this experience to a truly secluded area of Tanzania is ideal. Western Mt Kilimanjaro

Even if you do not ride, a visit to the area west of Mt Kilimanjaro is worth considering. This area has beautiful scenery, good game viewing with views of Mt Kilimanjaro and Mt Meru, and is free of the crowds. This area is a fabulous place to begin your venture into Tanzania, as it borders the Amboseli in Kenya. Although not a national park, this area has some lovely wildlife and we can provide you with a a walking safari with a Maasai warrior guide, where you learn to track animals, and get to visit a local Maasai village.
